SBHA Meeting Notes November 14, 2018

Stonebrook Homeowners Association

November Committee Meetings Agenda

November 14, 2018 7:30-8:00pm

Location: Idaho Falls, Idaho Public Library

Attendance: Jamie Braithwaite,

Fiber Internet Committee

  • Kelly Aldinger (works for Idaho Falls Power in Fiber)

  • Update: FIber project to the home has not started and will not start until Spring 2019.  Bear had set the time. The electrical is direct bury. In the backyard it is direct bury electrical is going bad and Idaho Falls will bore conduit underground.  At the same time they will put fiber conduit in. We are working in Waterford (southern part) and Bristol Heights and Park & Carriage Gate. Electrical already in conduit there and using special equipment to put into existing.  The tower is installed then microduct into the meter and then eventually get it into the house. Drive down Rollendet North there is a vacant field. In the corner is a brand new hut put in 11/9/2018 getting main hut in place. No electronic switches yet. It will be coming.  Starting phase after Thanksgiving/after December.

  • Understanding: Boar & trench the conduit.  As the electrical starts fading they will move it into the available conduit.  But will not be doing it at this time.

  • Depending on how your yard is set up will be minor/major inconvenience.  Hole where they start, Hole where they end, depending on location of transformer.  Bore as much as possible. Trench when necessary. Spring because of weather.

  • Potential Providers meeting with 5 or 6 local providers. (quicknet, silverstar, blackfoot communications, direct communications, Century Link, Sumo)  There will be options out there. Utopia is handling that area meaning you will have a local number to call but SLC will be looped in with Idaho Falls Power.  The City of Idaho Falls will charge $30 customers on Electric Bill. If you choose to hook up and the provider will put their price on top of that utility charge.

  • Recommendation: The thought is we are going to come in and knock on your door and get the infrastructure for fiber to the home. YES or NO.  No charge to homeowner. LATER ON if you choose NO - and change your mind they will come back in for an extra $300/400. DOES NOT mean you have to sign up.

  • Fiber does not share with others on the line.  You get the true MG that you are paying for. Unlike Cable One or Century Link.

    2. 400 chocolate 200 bananas

    3. Snow cone machine details still coming - hoping to get Canterbury Park to pay for expenses.

Action Items:

  1. Message: Are there pre-approved colors for the roofing? If so, what are they? If we are slightly changing the color, do we need approval of the ARC?

  1. Subject: Behind Fence RV Parking Variance Request

Message: Hello, I would like permission to park an RV on the east side of my house(opposite of the garage). Putting it on the east side will almost entirely conceal the RV from street view. Putting the RV adjacent to the garage is not feasible due to the location of our air conditioner unit and gas line terminal. It would also consume our back patio. This change would require that a bush be removed at the north eastern corner of the house, and installation of a wider fence gate. There would not be any landscaping changes to the font yard. A playwood track would be laid down when moving the RV in out of its parking to preserve the grass / prevent tire marks. I am not sure when the next meeting is, but I would like to attend and can answer any questions you may have. Thanks, James Spencer
